Experts in Rust Repairs
Restore your pool’s structural integrity with our Epoxy Rust Repair Service. Our solutions effectively removes and repairs rust in concrete pools, addressing both surface stains and deeper corrosion issues caused by rusted reinforcement bars. Epoxy rust repairs include the removal and epoxy treatment of contaminated Reo-bars, and the application of cement based micro-silica reinforced restoration mortar with corrosion inhibitors also sealing the exposed working area. The result is a clean, stable, and rust-resistant surface, ready to withstand saltwater exposure ensuring long-lasting protection and restoration of your pool's framework. Read about the process below.
Identify the Rust Source
Determine if the rust is caused by metal pool components (ie: lights, ladders and or iron-stone in finish surface) or more fundamental the corrosion of reinforcement steel.
Dewater pool
Dewater pool and ensure the pools hydrostatic valve is clear and the pool is stable. Conduct a thorough inspection to locate all areas where rust stains or cracks have appeared, as these indicate places where water has penetrated the concrete and corroded the reinforcement steel.
Remove Damaged Concrete
Grind to remove any loose or damaged concrete around the rusted steel. Expose the rusted steel completely allowing full access for cleaning and treatment. If the steel is severely corroded or has lost structural integrity, it may need to be cut out and replaced overlapping them with existing steel for structural support.
Bonding Agents
Bonding agents applied to the exposed concrete and steel area, helping the new patch adhere properly and creates a waterproof seal to prevent future water ingress. Fill in the repaired area with high-strength, non-shrink mortar or concrete mix, designed for underwater or pool repairs
Waterproof Repaired Area
This sealant layer is crucial to prevent further corrosion.
Reapply Pool Surface Finish
Reapply the Pebblecrete Surface Finish to restore the pool’s appearance and provide an additional layer of protection.
